New Delhi 29 July 2020. The Modi government has approved the new education policy. It was decided in the cabinet meeting on Wednesday. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar gave information about the decisions taken in the cabinet meeting at the press conference. He told that after 34 years, India's new education policy has come. Major changes have been made in the school-college system. The Modi government of the Center has approved the new education policy. With this, the Ministry of Human Resource Development has been renamed as Ministry of Education. Under the new education policy, the format of 10 + 2 has been completely abolished, understand this.
Now it is divided into 10 + 2 and 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 format. This means that now the first five years of school will include three years of pre-primary school and foundation stage including class 1 and class 2. Then the next three years will be divided into the preparation phase of classes 3 to 5.
After this, three years of middle stage (classes 6 to 8) and four years of secondary stage (classes 9 to 12). Apart from this, there will be no strict adherence to arts, commerce, science stream in schools, students can take whatever courses they want now.
In the multiple entry and exit system, certificate will be given after the first year, diploma after the second year and degree after three-four years. 4 year degree program then M.A. And then one can do PhD directly without M.Phil. The new reforms emphasize technology and online education. Right now we have different rules for deemed universities, central universities and standalone institutions. The rules will be the same for all under the new education policy.
Many proposals for board exams are in the new education policy. The importance of board examinations will be reduced. Real knowledge will be tested in this. By class 5, the mother tongue will be made the medium of instruction. The report card will contain everything.
Now board exam in just 12th
After 34 years, the education policy has been changed with the new education policy being approved by the Cabinet. Under the new education policy, now students up to 5th will be taught in mother tongue, local language and national language only. The remaining subjects, whether English or not, will be taught as a subject. Now the board exam will have to be given only in 12th standard. Earlier the exam of the 10th board was also compulsory, now it will not be. Examination will be done in the semester from 9th to 12th class. School education will be taught under the 5 + 3 + 3 + 4 formula.
College degree will be of both 3 and 4 years
Talking about graduate course, certificate will be given on 1 year, diploma on 2 years, degree on 3 years. Now college degree will be of both 3 and 4 years. 3 year degree for those students who do not have to do higher education.
The new education policy will include music, philosophy, art, dance, theater, education courses of higher institutions. The bachelor's degree will be of 3 or 4 years duration. Academy Bank of Credit will be formed, digital record of students' performance will be collected. By 2050, at least 50 percent of the learners will have to be involved in vocational education through the school and higher education system. A new national research institute will be formed for quality qualification research, it will be related to all the universities of the country.
